Welcome to the 3ware Escalade RAID Software CD-ROM v7.6.x, a collection of drivers, software, and information on 3ware products!  This information is current as of July, 2003.  For the latest drivers, software, and information on 3ware products, please visit our web site at http://www.3ware.com

 2.  Windows Operating Systems

The Windows drivers and software are contained in the \windows folder.

  \windows\win2k-xp folder  :  Driver for Windows 2000 (Professional, Server, and Advanced Server), and Windows XP.


The contents of these folders should be copied to a blank, formatted 3.5" diskette, and inserted when prompted by Windows.

  \windows\3dm              :  3dmsetup.exe, the software installation program for 3ware 3DM software management program.

Run 3dmsetup.exe to start the installation process of 3ware 3DM.

Once 3ware 3DM is installed, you can run it by executing the Windows shortcut that is created at Start\Programs\3ware 3DM\3DM Web Interface.

 3.  Linux Operating Systems

The Linux drivers and software are contained in the \linux folder.

  \linux\drivers\redhat   :  Drivers for RedHat Linux versions v7.2, v7.3, and v8.0
  \linux\drivers\suse     :  Drivers for Suse Linux versions v7.2, v7.3, and v8.0.
  \linux\drivers\src\2.4  :  Open source of the 3ware driver for Linux 2.4 kernel 
  \linux\drivers\images   :  Floppy Disk Images for Redhat and SuSE drivers

The contents of either the Redhat or SuSE folder should be copied to a blank, formatted 3.5" diskette, and inserted when prompted by Linux.  The source code for the 3ware drivers provided in the  \src\2.4 folder can be used to compile a driver for other versions of Linux, including RedHat v7.3.  Please keep in mind that 3ware only offers technical support for operating systems for which 3ware provides a driver (i.e. those operating systems listed above).

  \linux\3dm              :  install.3dm and 3dm-lnx.tgz;  instructions are included in the documentation - usrguide.pdf.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
