MIXER.EXE is the general purpose Codec setting control program. For the time being, it will get the information from MIXER.CFG, and VOLUME.CFG. Please copy MIXER.EXE, MIXER.CFG and VOLUME.CFG to the installation directory of user selection. In the batch run mode,"MIXER /B", it will read the information from MIXER.CFG, VOLUME.CFG and SOUND16.CFG only. That means there is no modification to these files. Also, it is not necessary to keep volume page of SNDINIT.EXE and add the following line to [OPTION] of SOUN16.CFG. VOLUMEPAGE=NO For Channel Mapping Customization case: It is OEM manufacture's responsibility to specify the channel usage according to her/his design. For "MAPPING" section of MIXER.CFG, there are several setting objects. 1) Title is the custom title shown in the MIXER.EXE. 2) Default_Codec_Mapping to determine whether to use Codec as OPTi reference design. If "Yes", then the following object will not be used. 3) Max. 5 volume control objects and these are "AUX1_Control_Name", "AUX2_Control_Name", "DAC_Control_Name", "LINE_Control_Name" and "MIC_Control_Name". The choices are "CD", "MIDI", "WAVE", "LINE" and "MIC". 4) Use "Use_Karaoke_By_DME" to turn on or off Karaoke function. 5) Use "Total_Extra_Controls" to determine how many extra controls will be in MIXER.EXE. 6) Use "Extra_Control_x_Name" to show control's name. 7) Use "Extra_Control_x_By" to determine which bit will be set. The choices are "XCTL0", "XCTL1", "GPOUT", "GPIO0", "GPIO1", "GPIO2" and "GPIO3". Use "Extra_Control_x_On_Val" to determine whether "1" or "0"means enabled. 8) The last one is "Input_x_Control_Name", where x means which input for recording and it starts from "0" to max. "3". The choices are "MIC", "MIX", "CD" and "LINE". NOTE: 930 and 1848 does not have Karaoke control object even user select "Yes" in MIXER.CFG. Only 1845 and 4231 have Mono control Object. GPOUT is only for 929. Item 7 and 8 are recommended to be modified by the manufacture. The example is shown as follows: [MAPPING] Title=Mixer Application of OPTi Inc. v1.01 Default_Codec_Mapping=No AUX1_Control_Name=CD AUX2_Control_Name=MIDI DAC_Control_Name=WAVE Use_Karaoke_By_DME=Yes Total_Extra_Controls=1 Extra_Control_1_Name=3D Extra_Control_1_By=XCTL0 Extra_Control_1_On_Val=1 Input_0_Control_Name=LINE Input_1_Control_Name=AUX Input_2_Control_Name=MIC Input_3_Control_Name=MIX For Volume Adjustment case: It is specified in VOLUME.CFG and see the following example.
