                         NE34ND.386 Ver 2.10

Description:

  1. NE34ND.386 is an NDIS 3.x driver for Windows for Workgroup 3.11.

     If there is only one NE-34 PCI adapter, the driver will automatically
     read IOBASE and IRQ from PCI Configuration Space.

     If there is more than  one NE-34 PCI  adapter , user  can  indicate a
     specified NE-34 card  by inputing an ID.

     If user does not input an ID to select a specified NE-34 card ,  this
     driver will automatically select a NE-34 card to load.

  2. OEMSETUP.INF is a Network Setup Information File for WFW 3.11.


Installation:

  1. Load NE34ND.386 and OEMSETUP.INF files into local hard disk.

  2. Run WFW 3.11 by typing WIN from DOS prompt.

  3. Click the [Network] Iron in the Main Program Group.

  4. Click the [Network Setup] icon from the Network Window.

  5. Click the [Drivers] button from the 'Network Setup' Dialog Box.

  6. Click the [Add Adapters] button from the 'Option' Dialog Box.

  7. When the install driver field appears, select
     'Unlisted or Updated Network Adapter' item.

  8. Type the path that contains NE34ND.386 and OEMSETUP.INF files.

  9. Press <Enter> to start the installation processes.

  10.When 'NE-34 PCI Ethernet Adapter' Dialog Box appears, press <Enter>.

  11.If you want to enable the early interrupt function, click the [Setup]
     button from the 'NE-34 PCI Ethernet Adapter' Dialog Box.
     Select the 'Early Interrupt Function' item.
     Select 'disable' or 'enable'.
     Click the [Set] button.

  12.If more than one NE-34 cards are installed on your computer , you can
     select a specified NE-34 card by inputing an Ethernet ID.
     Click the [Setup] button from the 'NE-34 PCI Ethernet Adapter'.
     Select the 'Selected adapter's ID[if multi-NE34 used]' item.
     Key in Ethernet ID.
     Click the [Setup] button.

  13.Follow the screen instructions to complete the installation process.

  14.Restart your computer.


Use:

  1. Run WFW 3.11 by typing WIN from DOS prompt.
  2. If want to change the setting of the early interrupt function of this
     driver, refer to step 2 to 11 in the Installation section.
  3. If more than one NE-34 PCI adapters are installed on  your computer ,
     you can select a specified NE-34 card to load (refer to step 2- 11 in
     this Installation section).


Trouble Shooting:

  1. Message---> Your network adapter NE-34 is not working properly.
                 You may need to set it up again. For more information,see
                 'Troubleshooting' in your 'Workgroup Add-On User's Guide'
                 The following error occurred while loading protocol number0
                 Error 58: The network  has  responded  incorrectly. You may
                          need to reconfiguration the protocol using Network
                          Setup.
                 If your computer is a portable,make sure it is connected to
                 its docking sation.

     Solution--> Make sure that NE-34 card is plugged into your system.

  2. Condition-> The Windows for Workgroup 3.11 can not boot properly.

     Solution--> Make sure your NE-34 PCI card is connected to the cable.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
