Phoenix Card Manager 95 Installation

The following instructions tell how to install and remove
Phoenix Card Manager 95 for your computer.

There are three procedures: one for upgrading the factory
installed software, one for installing Phoenix Card 
Manager 95 after reinstalling Windows 95 from the APM CD
and one for removing Phoenix Card Manager 95.

Note:  If you a have a printer connected to your 
computer you can print these instructions from Notepad 
by clicking on File on the menu bar and then click on 
print.


Upgrading Phoenix Card Manager on a System with 
Factory Installed Software (updates selected files)
---------------------------------------------------

 1. Place the Digital System CD in the CD-ROM drive.

    For this procedure, we will assume your CDROM Drive 
    letter is D:.  If your CD-ROM drive is has a different
    drive letter assigned, replace D: with the letter
    of your CD-ROM drive.

 2. From Windows Explorer create a temporary directory 
    called TEMP1 on your C drive.
    a.  In Windows Explorer click on the C drive.
    b.  Click on File on the Windows Explorer Menu bar.
    c.  Select New and click on Folder.
    d.  Type TEMP1 and press Enter.    

 3. Copy the Phoenix Card Manager upgrade file from the 
    Digital System CD to the TEMP1 directory you created.

    The file path is:
 
      D:\Drivers\Win95\CardBus\Upgrade\UPGRAD95.EXE

      (D is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.) 

 4. From Windows Explorer double-click on UPGRAD95.EXE in 
    C:\TEMP1.  This is a self-extracting file.

 5. Click on YES in the next window that appears.

 6. When asked to reboot the computer, click on YES.
 
 7. After the system reboots you can use Phoenix Card 
    Manager 95.



Installing Phoenix Card Manager 95 after Reinstalling 
Windows 95 from the APM CD
-----------------------------------------------------

 1. After installing Windows 95 from the APM CD, install
    the system specific Video, Audio, and Touchpad 
    drivers.
    a. Place the Digital System CD in the CD-ROM drive.
    b. Click on the Start button on the Windows Taskbar.
    c. Click on Run.
    d. Enter D:\CDinstall and click on OK.
       (D is the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive.)
    e. Go to the Drivers Installation Instructions menu 
       and follow the instructions for installing the 
       drivers.  Install the drivers in the following order: 
       Video, Audio, Touchpad.

 2. From the Digital System CD run the Enhancements and 
    Updates for the installed version of Windows 95.  
    
 3. After Windows 95, the system specific drivers and the 
    operating system Updates and Enhancements are installed, 
    run the Phoenix Card Manager 95 Setup Program.
    a. Verify that the Digital System CD is in the 
       CD-ROM drive.
    b. From Windows Explorer go to the following directory:
       D:\DRIVERS\WIN95\CARDBUS\INSTALL
       (D is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.)
    c. Double-click on Setup.bat.
 
 4. Click on Next in the first two windows that are displayed.

 5. Click on YES.

 6. Click on Next.

 7. Click on YES.

 8. In the Select Platform window, use the arrow keys to move
    the highlighted line to HINOTEVP.  Click on Next.

 9. Click NO.

10. Remove the Digital System CD from the CD-ROM drive and 
    click on Finish.  The system will reboot.


Removing Phoenix Card Manager 95
--------------------------------

 1. Click on the Start button located on the Windows Taskbar.

 2. Select Settings and click on Control Panel.

 3. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon in Control 
    Panel.

 4. Scroll down to Phoenix Card Manager 95 and click on to
    select it.

 5. Click on the Add/Remove button and follow any instructions.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
