INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Unisys recommends you install an Interim Correction (IC) package in the following situations: 1. When it accompanies the base release software. 2. When it corrects a specific problem that you have encountered. 3. When it has been recommended by a Unisys support center to correct or analyze a problem that you have encountered. Caution: 1. An IC package usually has been tested less extensively than the base release software. 2. Before beginning the IC Update process, please review the FALLBACK INSTRUCTIONS at the end of this document and take any necessary steps to prepare for possible fallback to the previous software level. Requirements: 1. This IC requires an earlier IC or the base version to be installed. 2. This IC must be applied to each cluster node on which you have the software installed. All cluster nodes must have the same version of software. To check if this version has been installed, go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for: Unisys Global Recovery Sentinel If found, click on "Support Information" to check its version. The Unisys Global Recovery Sentinel IC Update is provided in two methods: IC Update From The CD (method 1): 1. Copy the complete {product folder name} folder which includes the .msi, ICUpdate.vbs, and MsiName.txt files to a permanent location on your system. We suggest: C:\Program Files\Unisys\Software Updates\Gl-Recovery-Sent\ <IC release>\<IC #> It is very important to copy these files to a permanent location on your system because you will need the files for any subsequent Modify or Repair of your installation without needing the IC CD again. DO NOT REMOVE or MOVE the .msi file from your system while it is installed. If you ever uninstall the product or update to a newer level, then you may delete the files after you have done so. 2. Double-click on the ICUpdate.vbs to launch the software update. 3. For 32-bit clusters, click Deploy in the Global Recovery Sentinel Deployment Application to update the other nodes in the cluster. IC Update From The Unisys Support Web Site (method 2): 1. On the Unisys Support Web Site click on the link of the installation you wish to download. 2. If you choose to Save the download to your computer it will be stored by default as Gl-Recofery-Sent.exe under the Temp folder. If you do not want to overwrite what is already there then the dialog displayed will give you the opportunity to either rename the file and/or change the folder. 3. Either open the file through the dialog displayed or double-click on the BC-Span.exe that you downloaded. 4. In the Unzip To Folder field of the Winzip Self-Extractor screen, choose a permanent location to extract the files onto your system. By default, the files will be extracted to the following location: C:\Program Files\Unisys\Software Updates\Gl-Recovery-Sent\ <IC release>\<IC #>. It is very important to save the extracted files in a permanent location on your system because you will need the extracted .msi to Modify or Repair your installation at a later date. DO NOT REMOVE or MOVE the .msi file from your system while it is installed. If you ever uninstall the product or update to a newer level, then you may delete the file after you have done so. 5. Choose Unzip to start the file extraction. 6. Choose OK when all the files (.msi, ICUpdate.vbs, MsiName.txt, Notes.txt and Cover.txt) are successfully extracted onto your system. The VBScript file, ICUpdate.vbs, will be executed automatically to launch the software update after the files have been extracted onto your system. 7. For 32-bit clusters, click Deploy in the Global Recovery The IC update will automatically update the previously installed Global Recovery Sentinel software components. In other words, it will behave like a service pack and update whatever components have already been previously installed. Subsequent Modify, Repair, or Remove of the software installation can be accomplished by going to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs, and selecting Change on the appropriate entry. FALLBACK INSTRUCTIONS: If the IC update fails, the Windows Installer will automatically rollback to the previous install. Running the ICUpdate.vbs will cause the installation to generate a log file and a text file. Please submit these files when you ask us to analyze the problem. These files will be located under: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Unisys\GlobalRecovSent\RA To update to a newer IC, you may run its installation using IC Update methods 1 or 2 mentioned above.Download Driver Pack
