This diskette has network driver support for the DE-650CT PCMCIA Ethernet card. There is a format change for this driver disk. All README's have been reformatted, any easy setup program called AUTOinstall, and consistency on all documentation provided. Because D-Link is a global corporation, we make products and drivers for many different markets. An example of the wide engineering development are the NEC98xx drivers. These are not for NEC computers that are commonly sold in the North America (ie. VERSA). In Japan one of the most popular PC is a non-DOS compatible called the NEC 9800 series of laptops. Unless the Laptop is specifically marked with NEC9800 or compatible, only select the "IBM PC or compatible" item. During 1996, D-Link will change all driver disks to ARJ compression for better driver management and provisions for even more drivers to the disk. We hope our new readmes and installation will minimize the users effort to make our products work. Should you have further recommendations please contact the support manager at the local D-Link Office listed bellow. AUTOinstall will configure PCMCIA drivers, install the appropriate network drivers for popular network operating systems, and run diagnostics on the DE-650CT. Before running AUTOinstall, please make a backup copy of your diver diskette. Then simply run INSTALL.EXE program in the root of the driver disk(ie. A:\INSTALL<Enter>). Installation will copy selected driver to the destination directory. If the network operating system you are using is not covered by the installation program, refer to the individual documentation provided for each driver directory. Driver Directory Structure ÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ The network drivers on this disk is organized in the following structure. Each directory contains a README.TXT file which provides you with detailed installation instructions for drivers in that directory: These new drivers will support the complete DE-650CT PCMCIA Ethernet adapter series. All drivers will automatically detect the hardware information including I/O base address and IRQ. The network media connector type will also be automatically detected during driver initialization.
