  Microsoft had put the RTL8139A/B/C chip driver in the WinXP system.
  Please plug 32-Bit PCI Fast Ethernet Adapter into PCI slot. After
  WinXP starts up, it can recognize this adapter automatically.

  Otherwise, you can also use the driver of diskette. The procedures :

   1. Open System Properties. To do this, you can :
      Right click on the "My Computer" icon of your Windows Explorer, then
      select "Properties".

   2. Select the "Hardware" tab.

   3. Click the "Device Manager" button.

   4. Double click "Network adapters".

   5. Select the "Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC" device and
      double click to go to its properties.

   6. Select the "Driver" tab.

   7. Click "Update Driver...".

   8. Insert the Adapter Driver Diskette in your floppy drive.

   9. Select "Install the software automatically [Recommended]" and click
      "Next" in the "Hardware Update Wizard" dialog box.

  10. Select "Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC" and then
      click "Next" button in the "Hardware Update Wizard" dialog box.
      Windows will start to copy the driver.

  11. When Windows prompts with "Realtek RTL8139/810X Family PCI Fast Ethernet
      NIC" in the "Hardware Update Wizard" dialog box, click the "Finish"
      botton.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
