The procedure below describes how to install ASUS display drivers for Windows 2000/XP.



Installing ASUS display drivers for Windows 2000/XP
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Method 1 (ASUS Autorun. Quick installation)
  1. Start Windows.
  2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
  3. The AutoPlay function of CD-ROM will work and pop up ASUS Autorun
     window.
  4. Select "Install display driver" option.
  5. Follow the instructions on dialog. Driver will be installed and
     request for restart.
  6. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.

Method 2 (Run ASUS installation program directly)
  1. Start Windows.
  2. Put ASUS driver CD into CD-ROM drive.
  3. Change to "D:\Win2kXP\ASUS" directory and execute "ANvSETUP.EXE". You also can
     change to "D:\Win2kXP\ANvWest" or "D:\Win2kXP\ANvEast" directory (depending on
     your language) for multi-language support installation and run "setup.exe".
  4. Follow the instructions. Driver will be installed and request for
     restarting.
  5. Reboot system and your video adapter is now ready to use.

Method 3 (Manual installation)
  1. These drivers must be installed by a user with Windows 2000/XP Administrator
     privileges. Please consult your system administrator or Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
     User's Manual for more information on Administrator privileges.
  2. Start Microsoft Windows 2000/XP.
  3. From the Start menu, select Settings.
  4. Select Control Panel.
  5. Select System.
  6. Select Hardware tab.
  7. Select Device Manager.
  8. Select other devices.
  9. Right click the VGA compatible and select Properties.
 10. Select Driver.
 11. Select Update Driver.
 12. Select Next.
 13. Click the box next to "Display a list of the known drivers for this device
     so that I can choose a specific driver" to place a check mark in the box.
     select Next.
 14. Select "Have Disk..."
 15. Windows 2000 will prompt you for the correct path, enter the path of the driver
     such as D:\Win2kXP (assuming your CD-ROM drive is letter D)
 16. A list of video adapters will be displayed. Select the correct card you are using,
     then Click Next.
 17. Select Next.
 18. Select Finish.
 19  Select Close.
 20. Windows 2000/XP will ask if you wish to restart the computer. Select Yes.
     your video adapter is now ready to use.



Uninstall instructions
----------------------
1. These drivers must be uninstalled by a user with Windows 2000/XP Administrator
   privileges.  Please consult your system administrator or Microsoft
   Windows 2000/XP User's Manual for more information on Administrator privileges.
2. Start Microsoft Windows 2000/XP.
3. Click Start control bar option, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
4. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, click "ASUS Display Drivers", click Add/Remove.
5. Click Yes when asked if you wish to continue.
6. Click OK when asked if you wish to restart the computer.


Important notes
----------------

1. ASUS display cards consume more electrical power so that your
   motherboard must be able to provide enough electrical current in 3.3V
   power to maintain its normal operation.

2. ASUS display cards are recommended to use with Intel 440BX chipset
   for best compatibility.

3. To enable TV-Out function in Windows 2000/XP/NT, just connect the TV connector to the VGA card.
   Don't connect the monitor's 15-pin VGA connector to the VGA card.

4. ASUS Capture driver does not work correctly with ABIT-BP6 MotherBoard.

5. New algorithms for Direct3D VR.

6. To get Vr Picture Viewer worked properly, please install the proper monitor driver
   from Windows or your monitor vendor.

7. ASUS display drivers DO NOT support VR with non-deluxe models. Deluxe models users can enable 
   VR functions from advance page of ASUS control panel.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
