============================================================================= README.TXT for MultiMode 120 October 8, 1991 ============================================================================= This file contains information not available at the time the manuals were printed. Please read it carefully. VersaCAD 5.4 Driver Not Yet Available ===================================== The display driver for VersaCAD 5.4 was not available at the time of MultiMode 120's release. If you require this driver, please contact the Sigma Designs Product Support Dept. at (510) 770-0100. Your name will be put on a waiting list for this driver and it will be shipped to you automatically when it becomes available. Updating or Changing the Windows 3.0 Driver =========================================== The Windows SETUP program does not overwrite files with the same filename during driver installation. If the MultiMode 120 Windows driver is already installed and you want to change the driver or update it to a later version, the old driver files must be deleted before running the Windows SETUP program. These driver files are normally deleted by the MultiMode 120 Installation Utility. If you are bypassing the MultiMode 120 Installation Utility and are installing the driver files directly from the floppy drive, you must delete the old driver files before running the Windows SETUP program. The filenames of these driver files are: WIN30SML.DRV or WIN30BIG.DRV WIN30MM.GR2 WIN30MM.386 WIN30MM.LGO WIN30MM.RLE Running Windows 3.0 at Memory Page A000:0 ========================================= If you are running the MultiMode 120 at memory page A000:0 with Windows 3.0, and are running non-Windows applications in the MultiMode 120 high resolution mode (such as WordPerfect 5.1 in print preview mode), do not use the Alt-Esc or Alt-Tab key combinations to switch to Windows. Instead, exit out of the high resolution before using the key combinations to switch to Windows. This limitation does not exist if you are running at the default memory page of D000:0. Using the Print Preview in Microsoft Excel ========================================== If you are using the Print Preview mode of Microsoft Excel on the MultiMode 120, please refrain from using the Helvetica 12 point font. This font causes an Unrecoverable Applications Error if viewed in the portrait mode of Print Preview. Microsoft Excel Status Line Colors ================================== If you are using Microsoft Excel, you may notice some white boxes in the Excel status line (right above the horizontal scroll-bar). This can be corrected by adding the following two lines into the WIN.INI file in the Windows directory: [colors] ButtonFace=255 255 255 You can edit the WIN.INI file with the Windows NotePad or any ASCII text editor. Running Windows 3.0 in Standard Mode ==================================== If you use Windows 3.0 in Standard mode, please refrain from using the 132x66 high resolution text mode. A problem occurs when switching from Windows to non-Windows applications using the 132x66 mode. The 132x66 is the only high resolution mode affected. Other high resolution text modes do not have this problem. Running DOS Within a Window in 386 Enhanced Mode ================================================ If you are running DOS in window under Windows 3.0 386 Enhanced Mode, you will notice that the cursor disappears when it reaches the bottom of the DOS screen. Type "CLS" and the cursor will return to the top of the screen.Download Driver Pack
