Windows* 98 Signed Driver Readme File More information on using signed drivers ======================================== Microsoft* Windows 98 supports the use of "signed" drivers, which are drivers that have been certified by the Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) and packaged with a Microsoft-signed "catalog file", or CAT file, which verifies that the particular driver and its support files have been certified by Microsoft. For more information on driver signing, see www.microsoft.com/hwdev/desinit/digitsign.htm. The adapter CD-ROM contains the files to make an install disk which contains the signed driver files. How to create a floppy installation disk from this CD-ROM ========================================================= To install the PRO/100 + Client adapter signed driver, you must create an installation diskette and use this diskette to install and configure the PRO/100+ Client adapter. To create the installation diskette, you'll need a blank, formatted, 3.5-inch, high-density diskette. 1. Insert the PRO/100+ Client adapter CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive of a system where you can start a DOS prompt. 2. From the DOS prompt, go to the root directory of your CD-ROM drive. 3. Run the MAKEW98.BAT file and follow the instructions on the screen. You will be prompted to label and insert the blank diskette. 4.
