This subdirectory contains Adaptec's AHA-1540/1542/1640 (AHA-1740/1744 in
standard mode) NetWare 386 v3.0 SCSI disk module and ASPI manager.  The
revision of this driver is v1.0.  This driver has been FULLY Novell certified
under NetWare v3.0.

To load the driver, you would type the following at the NetWare 386 console
screen:

:load [path] asw1440 [options]

Please consult the user's manual for a description of the available command
line options.

NOTE:  Although this driver also runs under NetWare 386 v3.1, we recommend
       you use Adaptec's NetWare 386 v3.1 specific driver (\NET386.31)
       included on this disk.  It will give you more functionality.
       - Driver will only support up to 16M of ram.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
