This is the instalation procedure for Jazz and Bell + Howell digital cameras. 

Before you use this software certain considerations need to be made about your PC. If you are using Windows 98 or Windows 
2000 Professional, you will need a utiliy to unzip the driver.zip file. Contained in this .zip file are the 3 driver files 
you need to install your camera. We recommend winzip. It is free and can be downloaded from http://www.winzip.com, choose 
the evaluation version. Windows ME and Windows XP can open .zip files natively without any 3rd party software. It is also 
assumed that you have attempted to install the camera software from the CD that came bundled with your camera before using 
this driver. 

Windows 98/ME

 1)Locate the driver.zip file, this is the file you downloaded from our website. 
 2)Double click the driver.zip file, a screen will come up asking you to "extract" or unzip the files to a location. 
 3)Choose C:\, If you get a message saying this directory does not exist would you like to create it, choose yes
 2)Plug in the USB cable to the USB port usually located on the back of the PC
 3)Attach the camera to the other end of the USB cable and turn it on
 4)You should be prompted with the "new device found wizard" If not, refer to step Option B
 5)This is asking for the files in the driver directory in step one which should now be in C:\driver
 6)Type in C:\driver or browse to this location to the stv680.inf file
 7)The driver will now install but you will be prompted with a message saying that the driver does not have the microsoft  
 digital signature, this is normal as this is a generic driver
 8)Click ok and proceed with the install
 9)Right click on My Computer, click Properties then click System
 10)Click Device Manager
 11)Verify under Imaging Devices that the "USB dual mode camera" is installed
 

Option B: Alternative means to install driver for Windows 98/ME

 1)Click the start button, go to settings and then control panel
 2)Double click the add new hardware icon
 3)You will now follow the wizard instructions
 4)Click next for the first 2 prompts
 5)You may get a screen telling you that Windows has found a new device, If your not sure If this is your camera just 
   choose the no option
 6)You will be asked If you would like windows search for new hardware, choose no
 7)Windows will ask you what type of device you would like to install, choose other devices
 8)The next thing you will have to do is tell Windows where the files are located for your camera, choose the have disk
   option at this time
 9)In the install from disk dialog box, type in c:\driver or If your more comfortable with the browse function you can 
   use that
 10)Windows should find the stv680.inf file, click open and windows will install the driver
 11)You may now be prompted to reboot, If so please do


Windows 2000/XP

This will only install the driver for the hardware only, you will still need to follow the instructions for installing the
picture viewing software.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
