Introduction This Ethernet ODI driver for NetWare 3.1x/4.x Server conforms to Novell NetWare 386 Public Domain Open Data-Link Interface (ODI), a specification that is jointly designed by Novell and Apple. It applies to the NetWare 3.12/4.x servers. 2. Contents of the Subdirectory RPCI.LAN NetWare 3.1x/4.x ODI Server Driver for the E2000 PCI Ethernet Card. MSM.NLM Novell Generic Media Support Module for NetWare Server 4.x for the PCI Ethernet Card. MSM31X.NLM Novell Generic Media Support Module for NetWare Server 3.1x for the PCI Ethernet Card. LSLENH.NLM Novell Generic Media Support Module for NetWare Server 3.11 for the PCI Ethernet Card. 3. Installation 1) Install and configure the PCI Ethernet Card on your system, following the procedure in your installation manual. 2) Install NetWare v3.1x/v4.x server according to the manual. 3) Insert the Ethernet Driver Disk to any floppy drive, for example, A:. 4) Under the directory where the server files exist, type "SERVER" to start up the server. 5) Type as follows to load LSLENH.NLM and MSM31X.NLM from the Ethernet Driver Disk if you are using NetWare Server 3.11. LOAD A:LSLENH.NLM LOAD A:MSM31X.NLM Or, type as folls to Load MSM31X.NLM from the Ethernet Driver Disk if you are using NetWare Server 3.12 or above. LOAD A:MSM31X.NLM (for NetWare 3.12 or above) Or, type as follows to load MSM.NLM if you are using NetWare Server 4.x. LOAD A:MSM.NLM (for NetWare 4.x) Instead of the NLM files provided by Novell, you must load our NLM files before loading RPCI.LAN. Note: Before you load these drivers, you have to unload any LAN drivers (ETHERTSM.NLM and MSM.NLM/MSM31X.NLM) that have been installed. It is suggested copy these files to the server system. 6) On the server console, load RPCI.LAN. You may specify the frame type. For example: LOAD A:RPCI.LAN FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 7) Bind IPX to RPCI using the following command: BIND IPX TO RPCI 8) If you want to load RPCI.LAN from the hard disk directly in the future, set up a workstation to connect to this server, then copy RPCI.LAN from the Ethernet Driver Disk to the directory SYS:\SYSTEM on the server.Download Driver Pack
