1. Introduction
This Ethernet NDIS driver for IBM LAN Server conforms to 3Com/Microsoft
LAN Manager Network Driver Interface Specification v2.0.1 (Final 1990-
10-8). It supports IBM LAN Server 3.0/4.0 for DOS environment.
2. Contents of the Subdirectory
RPCI.DOS The NIDS2 driver.
RPCI.NIF The network information file for NDIS driver.
OEMSETUP.INF A setup-information file for installing the Ethernet
NDIS driver under IBM LAN Server 4.0.
3. Installation
First install your PCI Ethernet Card on the PC system following
the procedure in the Ethernet Adapter installation manual. Then skip
to the related section for your specific network application to con-
tinue installing the NDIS driver.
* LAN Server 3.0 Installation
1) Insert "LAN Support Program Insatll" diskette to drive A: and the
Ethernet Driver Disk to drive B:.
2) At the A: prompt, type "DXMAID" and press <Enter>.
3) When the "Process Adapter Option Diskette" dialog box is displayed,
replace "A:\DOS" with "B:\IBMLAN.DOS", and press <Enter>.
4) When the Current Configuration screen appears (as shown below),
press <Tab> to select Adapter or Protocol window. Use Up and Down
arrow keys to move cursor; then press Space bar to select or deselect
selection.

5) While at the Current Configuration screen, press <F5> to view/change
parameters; then, press <F4>. You can press <Esc> to return without
saving changes.
6) Reboot your system.
* LAN Server 4.0 Installation
1) Create a directory in the root of your fixed disk to place the OEM
drivers; for example, C:\RPCICOM. Then, copy all files from the
directory \IBMLAN.DOS of the Distribution Diskette to the directory.
2) Install DOS LAN Services.
3) When you are prompted to select the type of your network card, select
"Network card not shown in list below", and then press <Enter>.
4) Enter the path where the OEMSETUP.INF file is located when prompted
for. (Type the directory created in step 1.)
5) When "RPCI Ethernet Adapter" is displayed, press <Enter> to continue.
6) Specify Machine ID, User Name, and Domain Name when prompted for.
7) Check if the settings are correct.
Note that if you have more than one PCI Ethernet Card installed
in the computer, you need to use "Adapter's Ethernet ID (required if
multi-RPCI cards used)" in the following dialog box to identify which
card is used; otherwise, select "The listed options are correct" and
press <Enter>.

8) Enter the Ethernet address for the card. The setting should be typed
after the asterisk (*), e.g., "*00:40:95:41:00:46".
9) Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
