Before plugging the WPN111 to your PC's USB port:

Paste netwpn11.inf, net5523.cat, ar5523.sys and ar5523.bin in the following directory:
C:/Windows/system32/drivers

Then plug the WPN111 USB Wireless Network Adapter in and you tell the New Hardware Wizard to find the driver by
pointing to the netwpn11.inf file in the C:/Windows/system32/drivers directory.  It will install the new driver.
Your system will not crash under Windows XP, but it only connects at 54 MBPS.  I'd rather have a stable connection
and sacrifice speed for now until Netgear comes out with a Windows XP certicified driver for the WPN111 which doesn't
hang/freeze-up/crash your PC.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
