@ Installing Software:

   To install the SCO Unix MDI Device Driver:

   Copying the distribution files
   ------------------------------

   1. Copy the file AON325.SCO on a SCO Unix machine. 
      
          doscp a:/sco5/aon325.sco . (. denotes current directory)
     
   2. Copy the file to a diskette. To prepare and create a "new" 
      (remove the "old") 3.5 inch floppy in drive 0, use:

          dd if=aon325.sco of=/dev/rfd0135ds18
      
   3. Mark the diskette:
          AOpen AON-325 10/100M Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter Driver
          Release Ver:1.10

   4. Put the distribution diskette in the drive.

   5. Run custom. From the menu select:
        << Before SCO Open Server 5.0.4 >>
      Software -> Install New -> From Host -> Media Floppy -> Full

        <<After SCO Open Server 5.0.4>>
      Software -> Install New -> From Host -> Media Floppy -> Install
        You can use the key [TAB] to change the different commands window.

   6. When custom has completed, remove the diskette and quit custom.

   7. Run netconfig. Add the desired chain. The AON-325 drivers are called:
      "AOpen AON-325 10/100M Fast Ethernet PCI Adapter"

   8. In the "Network Driver Configuration" setting, you can select what
      you want (the default item is "HardwareDefault") and then push [OK].

   9. Setting your protocol.

  10. After you select "Exit", SCO UNIX will have some queries,
      you should select "Y" in every query.

  11. To activate the adapter, you must "reboot". Using

        reboot <enter>

      When the system boots, you should see the following message
      among the other configuration message :  

      %ANI_NIC   0x2000-0x2200  5     -    addr=00:60:67:xx:xx:xx


      with the appropriate I/O addresses, IRQ, serial media and IEEE address.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
