    SiS IDE Driver Installation For Windows NT 4.0
   ================================================
1. Enter Windows NT 4.0 System.

2. Double click the "My Computer" icon on the Desktop.

3. Double click the "Control Panel" icon in "My Computer".

4. Double click the "SCSI Adapters" icon in "Control Panel".

5. Click on the folder tab labeled "Drivers" in "SCSI Adapters".
   The currently installed SCSI adapter drivers will be listed in the
   Drivers menu.

   The display should list the default ATAPI driver,
   " IDE CD-ROM (ATAPI 1.2)/Dual-channel PCI IDE Controller"

6. Select "Remove" to remove the driver, and then click "Yes"
   in "Remove" window. 

7. Select "Add..." to add a new driver.

8. Insert the SiS IDE Driver diskette into floppy A or CD-ROM Drive,
   and click "Have Disk" in "Install Driver" window.

9. Change path to "NT"(floppy A) or "D:\IDE\NT"(CD-ROM Driver),
   and click "OK" in "Install From Disk" window.
   *** (assume D drive is the CD-ROM drive) ***

10. Choose "SIS PCI MASTER IDE Miniport DRIVER" in "Install Driver" and
    click "OK".

11. Change path to "NT"(floppy A) or "D:\IDE\NT"(CD-ROM Driver),
    and click "Continue" in "Windows NT Setup" window.

12. Click "Yes" to restart computer in "System Settings Change" window.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
