Introduction
============
The VestaFunDriver is a driver set for the PCVC665K Philips PC Camera.
You may use this driver if you lost the origional driver CDROM supplied with the
camera. 
This driver file also contains Vidcap32 which can be used to test the streaming
video function.
This driver is Windows 98 and Windows ME compatible.

Installing the PCVC665K Philips PC Camera using Windows 98
==========================================================

 1. Download VestaFunDriver.exe to c:\
 2. Select 'Start\Run' to open the Run dialog box
 3. Enter "c:\VestaFunDriver.exe" in the Run dialog box and press 'OK' to start the
    Winzip Self-extractor
 4. Press 'Unzip' to start unpacking the files
 5. Press 'OK' and 'Close' to close Winzip Self-extractor
 6. Locate a free USB plug on your PC and plug in your PCVC665K Philips PC Camera.
    Wait until the Add New Hardware Wizard appears on screen
 7. Press 'Next' and 'Next' in the Add New Hardware Wizard
 8. Check 'Specify a location:'
 9. Enter "c:\vestafundriver" in the dialog input field and press 'Next' and 'Next'.
10. Insert or locate your Windows 98 cdrom when asked to do so
11. Press 'Finish'

==========================================================
 1. Download VestaFunDriver.exe to c:\
 2. Select 'Start\Run' to open the Run dialog box
 3. Enter "c:\VestaFunDriver.exe" in the Run dialog box and press 'OK' to start the
    Winzip Self-extractor
 4. Press 'Unzip' to start unpacking the files
 5. Press 'OK' and 'Close' to close Winzip Self-extractor
 6. Locate a free USB plug on your PC and plug in your PCVC665K Philips PC Camera.
    Wait until the Add New Hardware Wizard appears on screen
 7. Check 'Specify the location of the driver (Advanced)' and press 'Next' in the
    Add New Hardware Wizard
 8. Check 'Specify a location;'
 9. Enter "c:\vestafundriver" in the dialog input field and press 'Next' and 'Next'.
10. Insert or locate your Windows ME cdrom when asked to do so
11. Press 'Finish'

Using the PCVC665K Philips PC Camera in general
===============================================
There are a lot of applications available nowadays which make this camera very usefull.
A few examples are MS Netmeeting, Smith Micro Video Link Mail, Ulead Photo Express etc.
These applications however are not bundled with this driver file.
Below 2 examples of basic operation of the camera is explained.

Using the PCVC665K Philips PC Camera to record still pictures
=============================================================
 1. Press 'Start\Programs\Accessories\Imaging' to start Imaging
 2. Press 'File\Select Scanner' and select 'Philips USB PC Camera (Vesta' and press 'OK'
 3. Press 'File\Select New' and wait until the viewer appears
 4. Adjust the image by using 'Image size' and 'Camera Control'
 5. Press 'Capture It' to take a snap shot

Using the PCVC665K Philips PC Camera to record streaming video
==============================================================
 1. Press 'Start\Run' to open the Run dialog box
 2. Enter "c:\vestafundriver\vidcap32.exe" in the Run dialog box and press 'OK'
 3. Select Options menu to adjust audio and video settings
 4. Select capture menu to record your video

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
