KX Installation Tips If you have a driver installed for this camera already and it is functioning, there is no need to upgrade. There have been no new driver releases for this camera since the one you have installed. If there is no driver installed, follow these steps: 1) Be sure the camera is not plugged in. 2) Extract all files from the driver.zip file into c:\temp\ 3) Click on the Start button then on Run. 4) Type in C:\temp\setup.exe and click on Ok. 5) Follow the on screen instructions. 6) Plug the KX into a USB port. 7) The Found New Hardware Wizard should appear. Choose “Install the software automatically” option and click Next.* 8) If a window with the title, "Hardware Installation" appears click on the "Continue Anyway” button. ** 9) Click Finish when it appears. 10) Restart your computer. * If the hardware wizard does not appear, attempt to use another USB 2.0 port. Alternatively refer to Microsoft’s website on how to use device manager to update hardware drivers. ** This does not mean that the driver will cause instability in your system. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
