Some calibration actions will change the internal database of this device. And system will mis-interprete the data transfered by this device. --------------------------------------------------------------- PART 6: KNOWN ISSUES --------------------------------------------------------------- This part of the readme file gives you information about known issues or known problems that are as yet unfunctional or illogical about the Device Driver. They will be resolved in future updates of the driver. Mind you that these issues in no way interfere with the correct functioning of the device software. 6.1 The buttons or axes do not work while testing on Game Controller. It is normal condition. Programing some buttons as keys of keyboard, the drivers will disable the functions of game input device, just cast the keystroke scan code to Windows to simulate the keyboard action. 6.2 Programming the Pause/Break key. If you program any device button with the Pause/Break key, the Num Lock key will be passed on to the game. How to simulate the problem: open the profile. Choose a device button, graphically shown to the right of the Profile Editor's window. Save and activate the profile. Press the button on the device to which you programmed the action (Pause/Break). Notice the Num Lock light switching on and off. How to work around: do not assign any keys with the Pause/Break key, as this will light up Num Lock. Please note that this is by no means harmfull to your device, software or to your computer. The action only does not have the expected outcome. 6.3 Making a new profile vs. editing an old one. There are a few simple rules to follow if you want to start making profiles: If your want to edit an old profile: double click the profile in the Profile Activator - OR - Open the Profile Editor, click on Open, point the Dialog window to the correct folder and double-click the profile you want to edit. If you want to start a new profile: Open the activator and click on Utilities in the Menu located at the top of your screen and start editing. - OR - Open the activator and click on Profile Editor button on the toolbar. - OR - Open the editor by right-clicking on the device Activator in the System tray to the left of your screen. 6.4 Use of the 'Add' button. Click on the 'Add' button when you want to add an existing profile. An existing profile is a profile that is located on your hard disk. The 'Add' button does not allow you to add a "new" profile. To add a new profile, first edit it in the Profile Editor, save it to Hard Disk and 'Add' it to the Profile Activator by clicking on the 'Add' button. 6.5 Playing Battlezone To enjoy Battlezone the most, you still need to configure the game correctly to make best use of the Digital 3D device. To do that, boot up Battlezone after installing it. Click on Options on the bottom-left side of the screen. Click on Input Configuration, then on Joystick on the bottom-right side of the screen. Choose 'Standard 4 button 3 axis Joystick with Hat' and reduce the sensitivity to more or less a third. Battlezone should now be set-up correctly and your Digital 3D device should be detected within the game. 6.6 Grouping units in Battlezone using the Digital 3D device You will notice that the standard Battlezone profile has no CTRL key assigned to group units (Feel free to change the profile to your needs). To group units, hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard. The reason why we did that? It is now possible to group more than five units to one group. Having CTRL under a device button would not allow grouping of more than five units. The issues described here are problems we are aware of. If you find any more, please send an e-mail to our service support. Please describe your problem as accurately as possible, including Steps on how to recreate the problem. We hope you enjoy our products. --------------------------------------------------------------- PART 7: HISTORY --------------------------------------------------------------- Ver 1.0 This software production version, release at 1999/10/29.Download Driver Pack
