---------------------------------------------------------------------

 Corrected problems in version 5.09:
 ========================================

5.09:1 SMB: File sharing error when two clients open the same file
When a file was opened on a Windows NT client after it had first been
opened on a Windows 95 client, access would be incorrectly denied in
one particular case. This would sometimes make it impossible for
example to run the Office 97 setup from Windows NT and Windows 95 at
         the same time.

5.09:2 Web: If you opened the properties dialog for a disc, and then clicked
'OK' without having clicked on the Unix(NFS) tab at least once, the
         Unix(NFS) properties would be erased.

5.09:3 NFS: Under heavy load, when a client tried to access a file using its
file ID, the server would sometimes claim that the file did not exist
         even though it did.

5.09:4 NFS: Some clients, Windows NT clients in particular, would sometimes
         lose their mountings.

5.09:5 File System: Volume label contains '.'
The StorPoint would get confused when changing a volume name where
the volume label contained a dot. This would result in an unspecified
         behavior.

Known remaining problems in version 5.09:
 ==============================================

5.09:6 File system: There may be problems with reading CD-RWs with the UDF
file system only, if they have been created with Direct CD without a
         ISO9660 header.

5.09:7 SMB: You cannot use 'Edit' in Windows NT to edit text files if you
navigate through directories with long names using their long names
(e.g. 'cd ServerProperties'). The problem is that with the SMB dialect
the server is currently supporting, 'Edit' (or the APIs that 'Edit'
uses) expects to be able to use some NT-specific commands. Since the
StorPoint doesn't support these, 'Edit' uses other commands but
shortens the long file name in an incorrect way. The same things
happens if you do this on a Windows98 machine since Win98 uses the
same dialect but does not support the NT-specific commands, so it is a
bug in the client and/or 'Edit'. The workaround currently is to use
the short versions of long filenames, i.e. instead of doing 'cd
ServerProperties' when navigating the file system you should do 'cd
Server~1' (or whatever the short file name is).

5.09:8 SCSI: The server reports read errors when you try to read files from a
DVD Video (as opposed to CD-Video (White book)). This is because some
DVDs are protected with the CSS encryption system. Data from such
discs can only be read using special hardware or software decoders.

5.09:9 Web: Sometimes, for instance if you press 'Archive All' on the
Discs&Drives web page, the page is updated before the requested action
(e.g. queue up all discs for archiving) has taken place. This means
that you sometimes have to reload the page in order to see the
         changes.

 Corrected problems in version 5.08:
 ===================================

5.08:1. SMTP: Server hang when sending mails
If the server attempted to send a mail notification of a log event
while being heavily loaded, it would occasionally hang.

5.08:2. File system: Reboot after read errors
The server would sometimes reboot after a medium read error on ISO9660
         CDROMs.

5.08:3. SMB: Several identical SMB shares
Different volumes with the same label would get the same SMB share
name but different volume names. In order get this working, a factory
         default may be necessary.

5.08:4. File system: Changing the case of the volume name
It is now possible to change the volume name to be the same as the
label but with a different case.

5.08:5. Web: Switching between SMB Share Level and User Level
If you switched between SMB Share Level and User Level security using
the web installation wizard, the change wouldn't always take effect.

5.08:6. SMB: Short file names
Using short file names instead of long in Win95 DOS prompts didn't
         always work.

5.08:7. Web: JavaScript error in NDS Wizard
A bug in the JavaScript code could cause a script error if there were
too many NDS trees to display on the 'Select Tree' page.

5.08:8. Memory handling: Server could hang when allocating large
amounts of memory. Some strange packets (e.g. ipx) could
         do this.

5.08:9. Web: NetWare IPX frame types
A problem when setting ipx frame types from the network settings
         page was fixed.

5.08:10. NetWare: Problem communicating with other NDS servers
A bug in the NCP client caused it to disregard 'request in
progress' messages from other servers. This could cause a
connection to incorrectly timeout after eight seconds.

5.08:11. NetWare: NetWare/IP DSS Communication problem
The CD-ROM Server occasionally had problems communicating with
the DSS server. The implementation is now more robust regarding
packet loss on slow WAN links.

5.08:12. SMB: File sharing error when two clients open the same file
When a file was opened on a Windows 95 client after it had
first been opened on a Windows NT client, access was incorrectly
denied in one particular case. This made it impossible for example
to run the Office 97 setup from Windows NT and Windows 95 at the
         same time.
