    Shuttle HOT-569 motherboard BIOS 569WIQ0E
with patch J.2 for AMD K6-2+ and K6-III+ support,
and for IDE HDDs up to 128GB (32GB bugfix).

At this moment, the latest BIOS upgrade from Shuttle for the HOT-569 is the
version 569WIQ0E. This BIOS does not support the (mobile) K6-2+/III+ CPUs.
Also the original K6-2CXT/K6-III is not correctly supported because this BIOS
doesn't support the 6.0 multiplier.
To overcome these problems, I have patched the 569WIQ0E BIOS to include proper
recognition and handling of the K6-2/III 400/450/500 and the K6-2+/III+.
I've made the following changes:
- Added detection and correct CPU Type display for K6-2+ and K6-III+
- Expanded the automatic enabling of the K6(-2/III) Write Allocation feature
to work also on the K6-2+ and K6-III+
- Added support for all 6.0 multiplier/busspeed combinations for CPU speeds
  upto 6.0 x 83.3 (500MHz).
- Fixed the incorrect 2.4V Vcore Voltage Auto selection for the K6-2/450.
The correct 2.2V is now supplied, just as for the other K6 model 7 and
K6-2 CPUs. (And the K6-III still receives 2.4V in Auto.)
The Auto Vcore selection for the K6-2+/III+ however is still incorrect,
so you have to set it manually to 2.0V with the jumpers on the board.

In addition I have applied Petr Soucek's patch to remove the 32GB IDE harddisk
limit bug, and made another patch to remove an additional 64GB limit bug.
This patch J.2 BIOS supports now IDE drives upto 128GB, provided the harddisks
TYPE and MODE are set on Auto for drives larger than 64GB.
(Note: Due to another bug the BIOS SETUP hangs when manually inserting
HD parameters above 65535MB or when using the IDE HDD Auto Detection
function of the BIOS on drives larger than 64GB. Just set the Harddisks
TYPE and MODE to Auto for any drive above 64GB to avoid this error.)

For all other functions, my patched BIOS is identical to the original 569WIQ0E,
so you don't have to clear the CMOS if you upgrade from a 569WIQ0E BIOS.

The filename of the patched BIOS is 569J2Q0E.BIN and you can flash it with
AWDFLASH 6.31, like any other 569 BIOS upgrade.
Please take the usual precautions when flashing your BIOS.
Refer to Shuttle's web-site at
http://www.spacewalker.com/english/download.htm
for the proper flash procedure and at
ftp://ftp.spacewalker.com/BIOS/569/
you can download the AWDFLASH 6.31 program.
The program is contained in the original BIOS file 569wiq0e.zip

Note that, although this patched BIOS has been tested on different HOT-569
systems without any problems, it is provided "as is" and you use it at your
own risk.

I like to thank everybody who participated in testing this BIOS.
Jan.
