1.0     MSCDEX.EXE CD-ROM EXTENSION
-----------------------------------
For DOS Version 6.x or above, MSCDEX.EXE Version 2.22 is
provided in the DOS directory. The program will copy this
MSCDEX.EXE file from the C:\DOS sub-directory to C:\CDD.

The MSCDEX.EXE included in the disk is Version 2.21, and
is used for DOS Version 5.0 . If you have DOS Version 5.0
the program will copy this version of MSCDEX.EXE to the
C:\CDD sub-directory.


2.0     CDD.SYS PARAMETERS
--------------------------


The installation program lets you specify the following
parameters for the CDD.SYS driver.


        2.1     PORT ADDRESS OF THE CD-ROM'S INTERFACE CARD (/P)
        --------------------------------------------------------
        You  can specify the port address (I/O Address) for the
        Interface Card. The address selected must be the same as
	the jumper setting on the Interface Card (i.e., JP8)
        If the user is using a sound card instead of this card,
        the CD-ROM address setting for the sound card driver must
        be the same as the selected one. The port addresses
	available are 300, 320, 330, 340 and 360.
        (Default: 320)


        2.2     VERBOSE MODE FOR THE CDD.SYS DRIVER (/V)
        ------------------------------------------------
        This verbose mode can be turn on and off. Turning on the
        mode will display information about the installation.
        (Default: OFF)


3.0     CD-ROM DRIVE LETTER
---------------------------
The nearest unused drive letter will be used as the CD-ROM
drive letter.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
