Instructions for including Asiliant Chips and Technologies drivers in
XP Embedded.


1. Unzip the driver files
2. Launch Component Database Manager
3. Select Database->Import File
4. Browse to the folder containing your driver files
5. Select chipsxpe.sld
6. Ensure that "Copy repository files to repository root" is checked
7. Click Import
8. Exit Component Database Manager

The Asiliant driver will now be available for inclusion in your build using
Target Designer and will be listed in the browse window under
Hardware->Displays.

NOTE: If you want to be able to access the Asiliant control panel applet
(i.e. the "CHIPS" and "Color" tabs on the "Display Properties Settings
Advanced" page), then you must include two additional componenets in your
Target Designer build file.

These additional components are as follows:

1. Display Control Panel component
Software/System/User Interface/Shells/Windows Shell/Display Control Panel

2. Fonts: sserife_fon
Software/System/Multimedia & Graphics/Infrastructure/Fonts/Fonts: sserife_fon

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
