VoodooXP Special Edition
------------------------

This is a special release, available from VoodooFiles only, for those who have non-broadband Internet connections and do not wish to spend the time downloading the full version of the 3dfx Underground VoodooXP drivers. 3dfx Underground has not tested this release in any way other than through the install method specifically outlined in this readme, and thus any undesirable operation of these drivers when not installed per the included instructions can not be addressed by 3dfx Underground.

3dfx Underground, clearly, then, does NOT recommend that you use this release of the VoodooXP drivers with 3dfx Tools of another driver kit; doing so most likely will cause errors and decrease stability and performance. Nor do we recommend installing these drivers "on top of" an existing 3dfx Tools or 3dfx display drivers installation! This will result in very counterproductive occurrences that will only harm your 3dfx experience.

If you wish to use 3dfx Tools, download the latest full version of the VoodooXP drivers from VoodooFiles (http://www.voodoofiles.com) or 3dfx Underground (http://3dfxunderground.cjb.net).

The only recommended driver control panel utility for use with this release is V.Control, available for download in the utilities section of the 3dfx Underground site.

Troubleshooting Techniques
=======================================================================

Problem:
--------
There are still OpenGL problems!

Explanation:
------------
Windows XP sometimes forces its own opengl32.dll OpenGL-to-D3D wrapper file to be used, which renders OpenGL useless in such situations.

Solution:
---------
In a separate operating system or in DOS mode acheived from a bootable diskette, replace the opengl32.dll file in the Windows\System32 directory with the 3dfxOGL.dll file included in this kit, and then rename the 3dfxOGL.dll file you just copied into the directory to opengl32.dll.
