                Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter Installation
                   for Client 32 for DOSWIN Users


 This document contains Ehternet PCMCIA Adapter installation notes,
 which are not included in the Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter USER'S GUIDE
 or onscreen instructions, for Client 32 for DOSWIN users.


 This document contains information on the following topics:


  ******************************************************************
  * Notes:                                                         *
  *     The PC Card should be enabled by Card services.            *
  *     Please run ENEP16.EXE before starting Client 32 for        *
  *     DOSWIN.                                                    *
  *                                                                *
  *     Two alternatives to enable the Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter:    *
  *     1. Modify CONFIG.SYS                                       *
  *                                                                *
  *        Add the following two lines to the CONFIG.SYS file      *
  *                                                                *
  *        DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE NOEMS X=D000-D7FF              *
  *        DEVICE=<PATH>\ENEP16.EXE /iop:300 /irq:3                *
  *        ; <PATH> is a directory that includes the ENEP16.EXE    *
  *        ; file.                                                 *
  *        ; The first line is optional.                           *
  *        ; Please refer to the INST_DOS.TXT file for details.    *
  *                                                                *
  *     2. Issue an executive file:                                *
  *                                                                *
  *        At the DOS prompt, type:                                *
  *            ENEP16 [/irq:X] [/iop:XXX]                          *
  *                                                                *
  *        For more details, refer to inst_dos.txt.                *

   Sample Configuration Files:

      STARTNET.BAT (Client 32 for DOS will contain):

          SET NWLANGUAGE=English

   A. Driver Installation Procedures on Clien32 for DOS :
   ------------------------------------------------------
     1.If you have completed installed the Netware Client 32 for DOS, all
       you have to do is to modify STARTNET.BAT.  Please see the  sample
       STARTNET.BAT above. If not, Please follow the next step 2 - step 7.

     2.Run INSTALL.EXE from Netware Client 32 for DOS diskette 1 (or from
       Netware 4.11 CD).  When  the  product  manual  appears,  mark the
       "Netware Client 32 for DOS" item, then press <Enter>.

     3.Select "OTHER DRIVERS" item from "32-bit Network Board Drivers" menu,
       then press <Enter>.

     4.Insert Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter Driver Diskette, then specify the driver 
       path A:\NETWARE\CLIENT32\

     5.Select "Ethernet PCMCIA Adapter Driver", then press <Enter>.

     6.Following instructions to complete the Client32 for DOS software
       installation.

     7.Reboot your machine.


   B. Driver Installation Procedures on Client32 for Windows 3.x :
   ---------------------------------------------------------------
     Refer to Content A. On step 2, mark "Netware Client 32 for DOS"  and
     "Client 32 for Windows".   On step 4, specify  the  driver path like
     A:\NETWARE\CLIENT32\EP16.LAN , then  following step  3..7  to complete 
     the installation.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
