This document supplements the information in the 3M Dynapro Software Guide for Windows XP and Windows 2000: ET 3200 Series Computers. It covers the following topics:

1. DRIVER INSTALLATION DISKETTE
-------------------------------
This diskette is one of two that comprise the MicroTouch(TM) Near Field Imaging(TM) touch screen drivers and utilities for 3M Dynapro ET 3200 Series Computers running on Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional.

The touch screen software includes the following files:

* setup.exe (Diskette 1)
* SYSDIR1.cab (Diskette 1)
* MAINDIR1.cab (Diskette 2)

**NOTE**
Before installing the touch screen software, uninstall any previously installed touch screen drivers.



2. INSTALLING/UPGRADING THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER SOFTWARE
--------------------------------------------------------

To install touch screen software for your 3M Dynapro unit onto your host computer, the computer must be running on Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional operating system. 

To install the driver software and utilities for Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional operating systems, use the floppy diskettes supplied with your ET 3200 series computer to follow these steps:

1. Close all open Windows programs.

2. Find the floppy disk with drivers for Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional operating systems. The floppy disk includes setup.exe. Insert it in the disk drive.

3. Copy all files from the floppy disk to the hard drive of your computer.

4. Run setup.exe from the hard drive. The installation Welcome window appears.

5. Follow the screen prompts to install the driver and then follow the on-screen instructions of the NFI Setup Wizard. 

**NOTE** 
When the Baseline dialog box appears, select Skip, and when the Linearization Data Download dialog box appears, select Skip. Baseline and linearization data are built into the 3M Dynapro unit at the factory.

6. When the NFI Setup Wizard finishes, the Install Successful window appears. It is not necessary to restart the computer. If the touch screen does not function, consult the Troubleshooting section of the unit's installation guide. 


3. ONLINE HELP "NOT ENOUGH MEMORY" MESSAGE
------------------------------------------
A Windows Help dialog box may appear if F1 (the online Help function) is selected while a touch screen driver dialog box is in focus on the desktop. The message in the dialog box reads: "There is not enough memory available for this task. Quit one or more programs to increase available memory, and then try again."

If this dialog box appears, select OK and ignore the message.

There is no online help for the Windows XP/2000 driver and the operating system misinterprets that fact as a memory error. For help with using and configuring the driver software, consult the Software Guide for Windows XP and Windows 2000: ET 3200 Series Computers. This guide is available for download from www.3Mtouch.com.


4. UNINSTALLING THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVER SOFTWARE
------------------------------------------------

If it is ever necessary to uninstall the touch screen software for Windows XP Professional or Windows 2000 Professional operating systems, use the Windows Add/Remove Programs control panel:

1. From the Windows desktop, select Start, then Settings, then Control Panel, and then Add/Remove Programs. The Add/Remove Programs window appears.

2. Select the Universal Pointer Device Driver and then select the Change/Remove button. The Uninstall UPDD window appears.

3. Select Next. The Complete dialog box appears to confirm that the software is uninstalled.

4. Select Next to end the uninstall procedure.
