Installing Novell NetWare Server Driver --------------------------------------- Installation of PCMCIA 10/100 Ethernet Card's driver for NetWare 3.x-4.x server configuration is described as follows. Novell NetWare Server --------------------- Location of driver: \SERVER.ODI\PC400F.LAN NOTE: ----- 1)The directory structure which provided in the driver diskette of the PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card has been applied for OEM installation. For detailed descriptions, you can refer to the Novell NetWare documentation. 2)Use the (LOAD) and (BIND) commands to load the NetWare ODI server driver as steps list below. For more information about these commands, you may apply form the Novell NetWare LAN Driver Installation documentation. 3)There are two ways to load the NetWare Server driver: A) use the server command line prompt (":"), B) edit the (AUTOEXEC.NCF) file. If you choose the way A) then you have to load the driver each time while the system is restarting again. If you edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF file, it will load the driver automatically whenever your system is been booting. Installion Procedures: --------------------- 1.Install NetWare server on your system. 2.Copy the PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card ODI Server driver (PC400F.LAN) from the PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card driver diskette to the NetWare directory where the system file located. You can get access to the driver from the path "A:\SERVER.ODI\PC400F.LAN". 3.Boot NetWare, follow the steps listed below to load the driver manually. If you want to load the driver by AUTOEXECUTION, go to step 4. 1)You will need to specify the DOS path if the driver is located in a DOS partition. 2)Type the following command at the file server prompt (which also changes the default settings for PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Cards): LOAD PC400F Next, bind the driver to the IPX protocol stack by typing: BIND IPX TO PC400F NET=xxxx (Bind to IPX or any other protocol stack; e.g.:1234) Then press <Enter>. The installation of the NetWare Server 3.x/4.X driver is now completed. 4.Loading the driver by AUTOEXECTION, you must first edit the AUTOEXEC.NCF file from the Installation Utility. 1)You can get access to installation utility by typing "LOAD INSTALL" at the server prompt. 2)Open the "Edit AUTOEXEC.NCF File" at the "NCF files Options" page. 3)Writing down the following command lines on the (AUTOEXEC.NCF) file. LOAD PC400F FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 NAME=XXX BIND IPX XXX NET=YYY (Bind to IPX or any other protocol stack; where e.g., YYY=1234) The installation of the NetWare Server 4.x driver is now completed. Notes: You will need to specify the DOS path if the driver is located in in a DOS partition. FRAME (Multiple Frame Type Support) ------------------------------------ The FRAME keyword should be used with the LOAD command to designate the desired frame type. In addition, to support multiple FRAME types, the BOARD keyword must be used in conjunction with the FRAME keyword if no IO Address is specified. The available frame types: Ethernet_802.2 Ethernet_802.3 Ethernet_SNAP Ethernet_II Please refer to the appropriate Novell NetWare documentation for details regarding each frame type. For example, to load multiple frame types for one PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card, the following commands should be entered: LOAD PC400F FRAME=Ethernet_802.2 LOAD PC400F FRAME=Ethernet_802.3 LOAD PC400F FRAME=Ethernet_II LOAD PC400F FRAME=Ethernet_SNAP Finally, the driver must be (binded) to the IPX protocol for each frame type based on the procedure provided in the Novell NetWare documentation. FRAME (Single Frame Type Support) ---------------------------------- The FRAME keyword should be used with the LOAD command to designate the desired frame type. For single FRAME support, no BOARD keyword is needed to designate the frame type. The available values and description to load FRAME types is explained above. Loading Multiple PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Cards ------------------------------------------------ The driver must be loaded again for each new PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card installed in the system. If more than one adapter card will be installed, the user must specify the IRQ and I/O ADDRESS channel for each card. For example, to load two PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Cards: PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card #1: LOAD PC400F INT=3 PORT=300 PCMCIA 10/100 PC Ethernet Card #2: LOAD PC400F INT=5 PORT=320 NAME ------ The NAME keyword may be used with the LOAD command to specify the board number to the selected physical adapter board. This keyword is used to load a different frame type on the same board. For example LOAD PC400F FRAME=ETHERNET_802.2 NAME=E_802.2 BIND IPX TO E_802.2 LOAD PC400F FRAME=ETHERNET_802.3 NAME=E_802.3 BIND IPX TO E_802.3 -----------------------------------[ END ]-------------------------------------Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
