Known Problems and Workarounds
ÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ

This section mentions some problems, known bugs and possible workarounds.

+ Note: In all cases, you may try to use a compatible driver, e.g.
    for the HPLJetIIIx series.

+ Problem: When a Retry/Cancel dialog pops up after a device fault, and
the printer timeout is set <> "none", an unfinished page may be ejected
before you manage to press the Retry button.
Workaround: Disable timeout (set to 0).

+ Problem: Selecting 4A4 or "AUTO" page RAM on the LP5100/6100 is critical
for printing A3 duplex (i.e. it may work or not).
  Workaround: Choose at least 5A4.

+ Problem: When a document uses many fonts, and page RAM is set too high
(or "AUTO"), characters may be lost or appear in the wrong font.
Workaround: Lower the page RAM setting in the driver setup.

+ Problem: Printing an A3 page at 400dpi in Landscape orientation may be
VERY slow, if the PC has 8MB or less of RAM.
Workaround: Add the line "minBands=2" to the [parameters] section
    of the RICOHDRV.INI file.

+ Problem: Tables appear mis-aligned in Landscape orientation under
    200 or 240 dpi.
Workaround: Choose a higher resolution or use Print-to-edge.

+ Problem: There are problems with user-defined paper sizes when
Adobe Type Manager fonts are used.
  Workaround: None.

+ Problem: When using Print-to-Edge, the margins may not be perfect.
Workaround: Try adjusting the margins from within the application.

+ Problem: Printing white text on a black background may not work.
Workaround: Depending on your system, this might not work at all.
You could try one of the following:
      - instead of Black, use a Dark Blue background
      - send TrueType as Graphics
      - lower the screen resolution or the number of colors,
or try a standard VGA video driver

+ Problem: Gray-scaled shadings may print as Black under PowerPoint.
Workaround: Try a different resolution, font size, or color of shading.

+ Problem: Word for Windows 6.0 may cause a General Protection Fault.
Workaround: Try to send TrueType as Font. Restart Windows and pray.

+ Problem: The right margin of Excel tables may be too big.
  Workaround: Try a different driver.

+ Problem: Line spacing (and therefore, pagebreaks) and TrueType fonts
appear different under 300dpi versus 400dpi.
  Workaround: Avoid switching between resolutions.
