RELNOTES.TXT R e l e a s e N o t e s ========================== for RICOH95.DRV (rel 3.1, 1.Feb.95) This file contains some remarks on this driver version, including known bugs with possible workarounds, and unsupported features. --------------------------------------------------------------------- S u p p o r t e d D e v i c e s ================================== This printer driver supports the following Ricoh laser printers and multi-functional devices: - Ricoh LP1200 (300 & 400 dpi) - Ricoh LP5100 (300 & 400 dpi) - Ricoh LP6100 (300 & 400 dpi) - Ricoh MV715 (300 dpi) - Ricoh MV715e (300 & 400 dpi) - Ricoh MV715se (300 dpi) - Ricoh FAX2500L (300 dpi) --------------------------------------------------------------------- N o t e s ========== [01] This driver requires the printer to be in LJET mode ! [02] Due to the limitations of the Windows Unidriver, some features of the devices cannot be supported. [03] If you have problems with complex pages not being printed properly, try increasing the "pageram" setting on the printer's front panel. [04] When "TrueType Fonts as Bitmap Soft Fonts" is selected, the printer may give an error message "Base Line Out Of Range". This can be suppressed by setting "report=none" on the printer front panel. Driver Limitations & Workarounds --------------------------------- [01] User-defined paper sizes are not implemented in this version. Workaround: Use the application's "User-Defined" paper size, if possible. [02] Print-to-edge (clip off) is not supported in this version. Workaround: Set "clip=NO" on the printer's front panel, and design a user-defined paper size. [03] Line spacing (and, therefore, page breaks) can be different in 300 versus 400 dpi. Workaround: After changing the resolution, check the page breaks again. [04] The MV715e at 400dpi can have problems printing very thin lines and gray-scale brushes, when dithering is not set to "Coarse". This is due to an engine problem and cannot be fixed. Workaround: Use "Coarse" dithering. [05] The Universal Feeder of the RICOH LP1200 works only for A4 and Letter paper sizes. Workaround: Other paper sizes may be supported in a future version. [06] The fax option of the RICOH LP1200 is not supported and will not be supported. Workaround: None. ---------------------------------------------------------------------Download Driver Pack
