NCPLINUXDRV.ZIP is a compressed archive containing LINUX PCMCIA-driver
software packages enabling use of a Nokia Card Phone.

The Card Phone driver currently (as of 10.3.1998) supports only
GSM-data functionality, although it sets up the card for both
data and audio. Some kind of audio interface is in the works, though.

NCPLINUXDR.ZIP contains the following files and "zip":

	README.TXT		this text file
	LICENCE.TXT		licence agreement, to be read before 
				installing any part of the software
	CARDPHONE.TAR.GZ	this "zip" file include four files (below).

	Cardphone.latex		This document explains the installation 
and configuration of the Linux PCMCIA-driver for the Nokia Card Phone. 

	cardphone.ps		This document explains the installation 
and configuration of the Linux PCMCIA-driver for the Nokia Card Phone.
	
	nokia_cs.c		source code file
				A driver for the Nokia PhoneCard. 
				Based on serial_cs.c 
				- a driver for PCMCIA serial devices by David Hinds

	nokia_cs.h		source code file
				A driver for the Nokia PhoneCard.
				I/O - definitions for the Nokia PhoneCard

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
