Xerox DocuPrint N24/N32/N40 Version 1.8 Controller Software WARNING! Before downloading the new Version 1.8 Controller Software to your N24/N32/N40 printer, please read the following notice: WARNING TO HARD DISK USERS: If you have an optional Hard Disk Drive installed in your printer, when the Version 1.8 Controller Software is downloaded the Hard Disk will automatically be re-partitioned and re-formatted. These actions are necessary in order to implement certain new features and capabilities in the Version 1.8 software. You should be aware, however, that any files or resources (fonts, macros, unprinted secure/proof jobs, etc.) that you have stored on the Hard Disk at the time Version 1.8 is being installed will be deleted when the disk re-formatting takes place. Therefore, any files or resources currently stored on the Hard Disk which will be required for future printing applications will need to be downloaded to the Hard Disk again following the installation of the Version 1.8 software. UPDATED DRIVERS: When you install the new Version 1.8 Controller Software in your printer, we strongly recommend that you also download an updated set of Printer Drivers from this web site. This will ensure that the driver software you are using is fully compatible with the printer software you have installed, and will allow you to access all of the new and improved features. If there is anything about these notices that you do not understand, or need further information about, please contact Xerox Customer Support. If desired, a complete set of Release 1.8 User Documentation for your product can be downloaded from the Xerox Network Printers Web Site, which can be accessed by pointing your Web Browser to the following URL: http://xerox.networkprinters.com/docs/docs.asp Printer Firmware Upgrade The latest version of printer firmware currently available is Release 1.87. Before loading this version of firmware, your printer must be configured with a minimum of 24MB of RAM (the 8MB of permanently installed RAM plus at least 16MB of DRAM SIMMs). It is your responsibility to add to your printer whatever DRAM SIMMs are required to reach this minimum memory configuration before attempting to load the Release 1.87 printer firmware. If your printer is an N24 or N32, any SIMMs added must be rated at 70nsec or faster. If your printer is an N40, any SIMMs added must be rated at 50nsec or faster, and must be of the Extended Data Output (EDO) type. If you are unsure of the memory configuration in your printer or the firmware version currently installed, use the appropriate Control Panel menu selection to print a Configuration Sheet. NOTE: If the printer firmware currently installed in your N24/N32 is below level 1.74, certain other firmware updates may be required for the printer to be able to take full advantage of all Release 1.87 features and capabilities. If your printer is currently running firmware below level 1.74, please download the 1.74 firmware update from the Xerox Software and Drivers web site: http://www.officeprinting.xerox.com/perl-bin/opb_drivers.pl. To retrieve the 1.74 firmware file, you will need to enter the file name in the field "Enter a full or partial filename here". You will search for the following: blind n32174.exe Make sure to enter the word "blind" before the file as this firmware file is not returned through normal search results.Download Driver Pack
