Problems with Windows 2000 and Novell . . .

On many Novell networks, the software will not run until the AiroNet software is initialized after login. This is a problem because the wireless networking is needed to login. One way around that, for networks running a single WEP key, is to load the software and drivers. Setup the network properties through the software, then regedit the ADU out of the startup of the registry. (HKLM\microsoft\windows\Currentversion\run)

The cisco software sets up the wireless properties and writes them to a file. Upon boot, the wireless nic reads the file and is able to initialize before login.
