XWave PCI Audio Device Driver

This is a release of XWave PCI Audio Device Driver software.


Installation Procedure for XWave
==========================================

Install From CD
-------------------

1) Turn off Machine
2) Insert XWave Card
3) Turn on Machine and reboot system
4) Win95 will report "PCI MultiMedia Audio Device" found and ask for Driver.
   After searching your floppy drive, it will announce that no driver was 
   found there.
5) Click on "Other" and browse the driver from the "Win95" directory of your 
   CD-ROM drive.  If your CD-ROM drive is "D" then you would type "D:\WIN95".
   (usually Win95 OSR2 will locate it and you just click "Finish")
6) Win95 will start to install driver. just follow the steps with Win95.

Notes:
People may get confused with Win95 OSR2 Driver Installation from Floppy
1) Win95 will pop up a box with big red cross "X" and ask for "Driver Disk".
   Just click "OK".
2) Then Win95 looks into wrong directory to copy files. Instead of floppy,
   Win95 looks into the default WIN95 CD directory. Just change the
   directory to your CD-ROM Win95 directory


Removal Procedure
==========================================
 1) Insert the CD with the XWave drivers
 2) Go to the Win95 directory ( D:\WIN95 if your CD-ROM drive is D: )
 2) Run the program called RMQS3A.EXE
 4) After the program has finished removing the files, reboot the computer

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
