ENHANCEMENTS

   Version 2.6 includes the following enhancements:
   
   Added parallel mode selection to BIOS setup. Added a help screen 
   for select items. (SMC93X.SIO was changed).
   
   Re-enabled "Halt on" selection in standard CMOS Setup.
   
   Added the Enhanced/Extended Capabilities selection to the 
   parallel port.
   
   Changed "Halt on" default to "All errors."   


PREVIOUS RELEASE(S)

   Version 2.5 contained the following problem resolutions and 
   enhancements:
   
   Fixed the problem with Suspend mode.
   
   Enhanced the timing for SDRAM.
   
   Added the SETUP option for the Escape key to exit out of the CMOS 
   password setting.
   
   Added the SETUP option for Exiting without saving changes.


NOTES

   This diskette is used to upgrade AST system BIOS.  To upgrade the 
   BIOS, simply insert the diskette and turn the system ON.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

• Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

• If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

• Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

• Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

• Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

• From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

• Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
