Readme.txt Driver File Contents (YamahaCDROM.zip)

DOS boot disk.

This works on my IDE CDROMS, SCSI CDROMS, and SCSI CDRW's.

I have the AIC 789x family Adapetc SCSI controller (that includes AHA-2940U2/ AHA-2940U2W) that came on my ASUS P2B-S Motherboard.

My CDROMS are a Toshiba IDE XM-6302B, Toshiba IDE XM-6620B, Toshiba SCSI XM-6201TA, and a SCSI rewitable Yamaha CRW6416S.

This should work on most Adapetc controllers and Toshiba & Yamaha IDE & SCSI CDROMS.

There is a bonus folder with several other drivers for syquest drives, other SCSI controllers, LS 120 drives, Zip drives, etc.

I have also included my auto execute.exe and config.sys.

Just transfer the files to a formated disk with your system files on it (a choice given when formatting).

This is my Autoexec.bat file:

mscdex.EXE /D:cdrom001 /D:toscd001 /M:12

The /D:cdrom001 is for the Toshiba IDE's
The /D:toscd001 is for the Toshiba SCSI and Yamaha SCSI rewritable
/M:12 is the buffers (most popular number)

if you only have one CDROM the line would be like this:

   mscdex.exe /D:cdrom001 /M:12   (for the IDE) or
   mscdex.exe /D:toscd001 /M:12    (for the SCSI)

This is my Config.sys file:

LASTDRIVE=Z

device=\cdromdrv.sys /d:cdrom001
device=\aspi8u2.sys /d:TOSCD001
device=\aspicd.sys /d:TOSCD001

The first line is for the IDE CDROMS
The second line is for the SCSI CDROMS
The third line is for the SCSI rewritable (that is on a second SCSI connection)

(The device name toscd001 works on the SCSI Yamaha and Toshiba CDROM drives but the IDE Toshiba CDROM uses cdrom001.)
