SC100 SCSI Adapter Installation for Windows 95

HARDWARE SETUP

1. Turn off the computer and ALL devices that will attach to the SCSI cable,
   eg: cdrom drive, remove hard drive, zip drive, etc..

2. Clip the flat end of the centronics cable to the SC100 SCSI Adapter and
   the large end to the SCSI Unit.

   Note: Use the SCSI 1-SCSI 2 Adapter if necessary.

3. Turn on the unit(s) and computer.

4. Insert the SC100 SCSI Adapter into any of the computer's PCMCIA slot.


SOFTWARE SETUP


1.  Ensure that the Windows 95 card and socket services are properly
    configured. You may check the properties of the PCMCIA socket
    under the device manager to see if it is "working properly".

2.  After inserting the SCSI card into the PCMCIA slot, Windows 95 will
    display a dialog box saying "New Hardware Found".

3.  Insert the SCSI disk into your computer and choose "Driver from disk
    provided by hardware manufacturer". Click on the OK button

4.  At the A: prompt type A:\WIN95, then click on the OK button.

5.  When Windows 95 configures the scsi card, you will hear a two-toned beep.

6. Goto 'My Computer' to access your SCSI CD-ROM, Hard drives and MO storage 
   devices. 

7. For other SCSI devices, please refer to your device manual on how to 
   install the appropriate drivers.

If problems occur:

1. Exit Windows 95 and restart.

2. Look in Control panel, System and Device Manager. Click on PCMCIA socket.
   Is PCMCIA socket controller listed with an '!' in front of it ?
   If so, remove it, and re-install it. See your notebook manual for details.

3. Look in Control panel, System and Device Manager. Click on SCSI controller.
   Is "PCMCIA SCSI Miniport Driver" listed with an '!' in front of it ?
   If so, remove it, reboot and start over.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
