Follow the instructions mentioned below for installing the 12389-02 Trust Direct Webscan 19200 version 2.0 (48bit HW) on Windows XP using the webdriver available on ww.trust.com/12389 for download:

NOTE: This driver is only for the 12389-02 version of the Direct Webscan 19200, not the first version 12389. Please check item number on the product label on the bottom side of your scanner!

1. Download the Windows XP webdriver for the 12389-02 Trust Direct Webscan 19200 version 2.0 from www.trust.com/12389

2. Extract all the webdriver files (USB and TWAIN driver) to your hard-drive according to the on-screen instructions.

3. Go to the directory to where the webdriver files are extracted and double-click on the file “XPDriver.EXE”.

4. Click on the button “Unzip” to extract the signed Windows XP USB driver to the “C:\WINDOWS\Temp\” directory.
NOTE: The letter “C” mentioned above is an example of the default hard-drive on which Windows XP is installed. Check the install location of your Windows XP system, for example if Windows XP is installed as dual boot next to an other operating system on a different hard-drive or partition.

5. Plug the USB connector of the scanner into a free USB port of your computer. Windows will detect the new hardware.

6. Select the option “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click on the button “Next” to continue.

7. Type in as driver location “C:\WINDOWS\Temp” and click on the button “Next” to install the scanner on Windows XP. 

8. Click on the button “Finish” to finish the USB driver installation.

9. Go to the directory to where the webdriver files (TWAIN driver) are extracted and double-click on the file “Web.EXE” to install the TWAIN driver of the scanner.

10. Select the language you wish to use for the TWAIN driver and continue the installation.

11. Restart your system after installation, the scanner is now ready to use. See the included instruction manual of the scanner for information on the possible functions.



NOTE: For install instruction with screen capture please read 12389-02installxp.pdf file included with web driver. Before reading this file you must have installed Acrobat Reader on your system. Acrobat Reader is included on your driver cd or can be downloaded from www.acrobat.com

NOTE: To make the webdriver as small as possible in size for download, the help function and tutorials have been removed.

NOTE: For the full function of the Direct Scan buttons on the scanner you also need to install the included application software Photo Express and FineReader Sprint. See also the included manual.
