          Installing the NDIS 3.0 Driver for Windows NT 3.51


The following steps describe how to install your 3C359 NIC in a
computer running Windows NT 3.51. Instructions for Windows NT 4.0
installations are provided in the User Guide.

1.  Start Windows NT 3.51.

2.  In the Control panel, double-click the Network icon.

3.  In the Network Settings window, click Add Adapter.

4.  In the Add Network Adapter window, select Other.

    NOTE: This requires 3Com TokenDisk diskette #2.     

5.  Click Continue.

6.  Insert the TokenDisk diskette #2 into drive A: and type A:\ [Enter].

7.  In the Select OEM Option box, click OK to select the following: 
    
    3Com TokenLink Velocity XL PCI Adapter 
    

8. Click the OK button.

9. In the Network Settings window, click OK.
   If you are prompted for network information, contact your system     
   administrator for information unique to your network.

10. In the Network Settings Change window, remove the TokenDisk and 
    click Restart to restart your computer.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
