Updating the VS-880 Operating System from Zip disk. Use the following procedure to update the VS-880 to version 3.20A or 3.20B. Version 3.20A adds compatibility for the new VS-CDRII CD writer and also deletes the DAT Backup and DAT Restore commands as well as the ability to transfer digital audio through SCSI. Version 3.20B is functionally the same as v3.104. You can freely switch between these versions with this update. The updated software is provided as four files titled "$syspro0.vr8," "$sysproa.vr8," "$sysprob.vr8," and "$sysprog.vr8." The tools required are: *IBM compatible computer *SCSI Zip Drive *SCSI Cable *VS-880 *VS-880 System Update File Update Procedure 1) Connect the Zip drive to the computer and copy the four files to a Zip disk that has been formatted by the VS-880. 2) With the power off, connect the Zip drive to the VS-880 via the SCSI port. 3) Insert the Zip disk with the update file into the Zip drive and power on the Zip drive. 4) Power on the VS-880. After a short time, the screen will display "Update Sysprg?" 5) Press YES. 6) The message "Please Reboot OK" will be displayed. The system software of the VS-880 has now been updated. 7) Restart the VS-880 (power off and then on again). The new system version will be displayed in the lower left corner of the display as the unit is booting up. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
