Press YES. The message "Now Waiting..." will be displayed. 4. Play back all Standard MIDI Files in sequential order. 5. After all SMF's have been played into the VS-840EX, the message "Version Up?" will be displayed. Press YES. 6. The message "END!!! Please POWER OFF/ON" will be displayed. Turn the VS-840EX off then on. * NOTE: Hardware sequencers (such as the MC-80 or XP-50/60/80) are normally more reliable for transferring system exclusive MIDI data. We have tested these files with the following computer-based MIDI sequencing programs; Vision (Opcode), Performer (MOTU), Cubase (Steinberg/Jones), and Logic (Emagic). Several Manufacturers have demo versions of their sequencer available on the internet that will work for this use. Roland also has an application available on our website (www.rolandus.com) titled "updateSMF.exe" that can be used instead of a software sequencer. This program can be used with any IBM compatible computer that has a MIDI interface. If you have problems with the update procedure check your MIDI/interface setup.
