About VIA 4 In 1:
VIA 4 In 1 driver includes four system drivers to improve the performance and
maintain the stability of system using VIA chipset. These four drivers are:
VIA INF Driver, VIA AGP VxD driver, VIA IDE Driver
and VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver.

VIA INF Driver is to be installed under Windows. The driver will 
update system INF to help OS to recongnize VIA chipset.

VIA AGP VxD Driver is to be installed if you are using and AGP VGA card.
VIAGART.VXD will provide service routines to your VGA driver and interface
directly to hardware.

VIA IDE Driver is to be installed to enable Ultra DMA of your
IDE devices.

VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver is to be installed under Windows 98 only, it will
fixed PCI IRQ routing sequence.

Setting Up:
        You may Install and Uninstall VIA driver by selecting the proper
        options.

        Step 1: To setup the driver, double click the "SETUP.EXE" icon or run
        "SETUP.EXE" under VIA 4 In 1 Driver directory.
        Step 2: Bypass the "Welcome" dialog by clicking "Next"
        Step 3: In "Select Component" dialog, choose driver(s) you wish to
                install by clicking the check box of each driver. Selected
                driver(s) will display tick(s).
                After selecting proper driver(s), click next
        Step 4: Driver options select
            "VIA IDE Driver": 
                Install, Uninstall, Enable/Disable (Ultra) DMA Mode
            "VIA_GART AGP Driver":
                Install VIA AGP VxD in turbo mode, Install VIA AGP VxD in
                Normal Mode, Uninstall
            "VIA INF":
                Install, Uninstall
            "VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver"
                Install, Uninstall
        Step 5: Reboot for drivers to take effect.

Under Windows 95: VIA INF, VIA AGP VxD and VIA IDE Drivers
Under Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition: All 4 drivers are shown
Under NT: Only VIA IDE Bus Master Driver is to be installed
Under Windows 2000: Only VIA INF will shown
Under Millenium: Only VIA INF will shown

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
