Updating the NEC Mini-PCI LAN Card drivers in Windows 98 Second Edition
1. Right-click on My Computer and select Properties.
2. Select the Device Manager tab.
3. Click the plus sign next to Network adapters.
4. Highlight Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter and click Properties.
5. Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button.
6. At the Update Device Driver Wizard window, click Next.
7. Select "Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location..." and click
Next.
8. Then click the Have Disk button.
9. In the Copy manufacturer's Files From box enter C:\Windows\Options\NEC-LAN40175-98,
and click OK.
10. Select Intel 8255x-based PCI Ethernet Adapter and click OK.
11. You will be prompted that "Windows is now ready to install the selected driver for
this device." Click Next.
12. You may be prompted to insert your Windows 98 CD-ROM. If so, insert it.
13. At the following window click Finish, then click Yes at the System Settings Change
window to restart your computer.
Download Driver Pack
After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
