1.  O v e r v i e w

    This README.TXT contains instructions to install the sound card under
    Win95.

2.  K n o w n  I s s u e s  a n d  L i m i t a t i o n s.

    - Only Intel Pentium 166Mhz MMX CPU or above is supported.
    - Multiple prompting between PCI 338-A3D Multimedia Studio CD and
      Win95 CD. Will reduces prompting to minimum in future updates.
    - Muting and un-muting not fully compatible with Voyetra AudioStation.
      Fix is in progress.
    - Autodetection of Hardware in the second Startup of Windows 95.
      Fix is in progress to have no detection again after Inital detection.

3.  S y s t e m   R e q u i r e m e n t s

  - Intel Pentium 166mhz MMX or faster machine.(200Mhz MMX and above to
    enable A3D Sound).
  - 16MB RAM or greater.(32MB to enable A3D Sound)
  - 1 free PCI-bus expansion slot.

4.  M i x e r    A p p l i c a t i o n

For Windows 95 user, a mixer was created and located at the right bottom 
corner on the Task Bar.  This mixer application can be used to control the 
volume outputs of the sound card under windows 95 environment.

1. Start WIN95.

2. Upon rebooting, Win95 will auto-detect the Audio devices and
   prompts for the PCI 338-A3D Multimedia Studio CD. 

3. Insert the CD into your CDROM drive and path to the root directory of the 
   CD. Click [OK] to complete the installation. You may be prompt for the
   Windows 95 CD along the way. During detection, you will be prompt to install
   DirectX 5.0. Ensure that the PCI 338-A3D Multimedia CD is in the CDROM drive.
   Click "Reinstall DirectX" to install or update all your DirectX 5.0 drivers.

** Note that A3D will not be enable if you did not install DirectX 5.0 even if you
   fulfil the hardware requirements.

4. Reboot when prompt. Please do not remove the PCI 338-A3D Multimedia 
   Studio CD from your CDROM drive.

5. On the startup of Windows again, the second phase of drivers detection will
   carry on. 

6. After the detection, you will be prompt to install A3D demo applications.Please do
   not remove the CD from the CDROM drive at this time.

7. After A3D demo installation. They setup of PCI 338-A3D is completed.


**  IMPORTANT : This is a fully integrated setup procedure. However, some 
	        systems may have encounter some problems in Installation
		due system performances.
    
    If you skip or miss DirectX 5.0 Installation, please manually path to the 
    DirectX 5.0 directory on the CD and run DXSETUP.EXE 
    
    If you skip or miss A3D installation, please manually path to the Demo directory of
    the CD and run SETUP.EXE.

6.   U n i n s t a l l i n g
                                                              
1.   To uninstall the PCi 338-A3D Sound Card. Please go to Control Panel,
     system. Choose the "Devices Manager" Tab and click "Multifunciton
     Adapter".

2.   HighLight "PCI 338-A3D Multifunction PCI Platform" then the "remove"
     Button.

3.   Next go the Control Panel, "Add/Remove Programs". Remove
     the demo Application and then PCI 338-A3D Audio.

4.   Shut down your system properly and power down.

5.   Remove the PCI 338-A3D from the Slot.

6.   Uninstallation is complete.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
