           Driver installation Guide for Novell NetWare Client 32
         *********************************************************

Introduction
============
    This readme file describes the procedure to install 32-bit ODI driver
    on "Novell NetWare Client 32".

Installation Procedure
======================

 A. Install Client 32 for Windows 95 :

    NOTE: Please install Novell Netware Client 32 for Windows 95 first.

    Method 1: First-time Installation
    ---------------------------------

    If you have previously installed DC21X4.LAN driver of the Netware
    Client 32 under your Windows 95 system, skip this section and see
    "Follow-up Installation" below.

    1. Make sure there is no LAN Card plugged on your machine.

    2. Start Windows 95 and get into "Control Panel".

    3. Double click "Network" icon, then at the "Configuration" screen
       remove all items in list box, after that click "Add" button.

    4. On "Select Network Component Type" screen, click "Adapter" which
       locates at list box and then click "Add" button

    5. On "Select Network Adapters" screen, click "Have Disk" button.

    6. On "Install From Disk" screen, input the path where the driver
       locates, ex. A:\CLIENT32 or B:\CLIENT32 or
       You can click "Browse" button to search for the path where the
       driver locates.

    7. Another "Select Network Adapters" will be popped up and the
       following list is displayed:

      [ EB40 10Mbps PCI networking card ]
      [ EB41 10Mbps PCI networking card ]
    * [ EB140A-TX 10/100Mbps PCI networking card ]
      [ EB142/EB143 10/100Mbps PCI networking card ]

       Click the card type which you want to installed and click the
       "OK" button.

    8. Follow screen instructions until installation is finished.

    9. Don't restart your Windows 95 system right now.

   10. Get into "Control Panel" again.

   11. Double click "Network" icon, then at the "Configuration" screen
       remove all items in list box and click "OK" button.

   12. Power off and plug Adapter into slot.

   13. Start Windows 95, then EB140A-TX 10/100Mbps PCI networking card will
       be found.

   14. In "Copying files ..." screen, input the path where the drivers
       locates, ex. A:\CLIENT32 or B:\CLIENT32

   15. Follow screen instructions until installation is finished.

   16. Reboot your system.


    Method 2: Follow-up Installation
    --------------------------------

    If you are re-installing or updating  DC21X4.LAN driver of Novell
    Netware Client 32 under Windows 95 system,  follow the procedures
    given here. If you have not previously installed DC21X4.LAN driver
    of Novell Netware Client 32 under your Windows 95 system,  see the
    "First-time Installation" above.

    1. Power off and plug Adapter into slot.

    2. Start Windows 95, then EB140A-TX 10/100Mbps PCI networking card will
       be found.

    3. In "Copying files ..." screen, input the path where the drivers
       locates.  ex. A:\CLIENT32 or B:\CLIENT32

    4. Follow screen instructions until installation is finished.

    5. Reboot your system.


 B. Client 32 for DOS/Windows 3.1x :

    Method 1: Install Driver During Installing Client 32
    ----------------------------------------------------

    1. Follow the installation setps of Novell Netware Client 32 for
       DOS/Windows 3.1x.

    2. When 'Insert the NETWARE CLIENT 32 FOR DOS/WINDOWS 3.1x DISK 5 -
       LAN DRIVER' diskette ...etc. is prompted insert the desired
       diskette and on "Insert The Driver Disk" screen input the path
       where the driver locates:  ex. A:\CLIENT32 or B:\CLIENT32

    3. Select the desired parameters and continue the procedure.

    4. After installation is finished, the following files will be created:
       "\NOVELL\DOSCLNT" is installed path of Client32 for DOS/Windows 3.1x.

       LOAD C:\NOVELL\DOSCLNT\DC21X4.LAN FRAME=ETHERNET_II
       LOAD C:\NOVELL\DOSCLNT\DC21X4.LAN FRAME=ETHERNET_SNAP
       LOAD C:\NOVELL\DOSCLNT\IPX.NLM           <-- Binding driver

    NOTE: You can run  the Netware client installation program  for each
          workstation type from the CLIENT directory under SYS:PUBLIC or
          directly from the CD-ROM.


    Method 2: Install Driver after Client 32 is Installed
    -----------------------------------------------------

    1. Use text editor to edit STARTNET.BAT directly.

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
