Driver Installation Guide for Windows NT 3.5 ================================================== Introduction ============ This document describes the procedure to install NDIS 3.0 driver on Windows NT 3.5. This driver conforms to the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS 3.0) defined by Microsoft. Installation Procedure ====================== 1. If Windows NT operating system is being installed, select other manufacturers from the network adapter card options and follow steps 3 and later. 2. If Windows NT operating system is already installed, logon as Administrator and select Netwrok icon from the control panel. 3. In the Network Setting dialog box, choose "Add Adapter" button. The Add Network Adapter dialog box appears. 4. In the Add Network Adapter dialog box, pull the adapter card list menu and select "<Other>Requires disk from manufacturer" from the list, and then press <Enter> button. . 5. Insert the driver diskette in Drive A/B and place the Windows NT CDROM in the CD-ROM reader. 6. In the next windows, specify the correct drive and path (A:\WINNT35 or B:\WINNT35) when asked to give the source for the driver, and then choose the OK button. 7. Select your option [Digital DC21X4 10/100Mbps network Adapter] from the Select OEM Option box, then select OK. 8. For PCI options, a Dialog box pops up to select the: ConnectionType: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Digital DC21X4 10/100Mbps network Adapter ---------------------------------------------------------------------- o AutoSense Senses dynamically the media ports o AutoSense_NoNway Senses dynamically the media ports without Nway negotiation o 100BaseTx To connect 100BaseTx Ethernet hubs o 100BaseTx Full_Duplex To connect 100BaseTx Full Duplex hubs o 100BaseT4 To connect 100BaseT4 Ethernet hubs o 100BaseFx To connect 100BaseFx Ethernet hubs o 10BaseT To connect 10BaseT Ethernet hubs o 10BaseT Full_Duplex To connect 10BaseT Full Duplex hubs 9. Finally close the Setup dialog box and exit from the Add Network adapter dialog box to complete the installation. Follow any instructions appearing on the screen. 10. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
