Driver Installation Guide for MS LAN Manager v2.x (OS2) ********************************************************* Introduction This document describes the procedure to setup NDIS 2.01 driver on LAN Manager 2.x OS/2 station. This driver conforms to the Network Driver Interface Specification (NDIS 2.01) defined by Microsoft/3Com. Installation Procedure A. Suppose you install MS LAN Manager on a OS2 workstation for the first time. 1. Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program that is provided by LAN Manager. Upon completion of retrieval of the last workstation disk's contents, you will be asked if you want to import additional network drivers. Answer "YES". 2. Insert this diskette into the floppy drive. 3. Follow the instructions on the screen. "SETUP.EXE" program will retrieve NDIS driver programs from the diskette and put them on the directory where LAN Manager resides. 4. Reboot your computer and follow NDIS binding procedure to use the DC21X4.OS2 NDIS driver programs. B. If you have installed LAN Manager in your harddisk. 1. Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program. 2. Insert this Driver diskette into the floppy drive. 3. On the screen, select 'Configuration', 'Network Drivers', 'other Drivers' function and input correct diskette driver name. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. "SETUP.EXE" program will retrieve NDIS driver programs from the NDIS driver disk and put them on the harddisk and directory where LAN Manager resides. 5. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
