Updating the VM-3100/3100 Pro from Standard MIDI Files HOW TO UPDATE THE SYSTEM 1) Using a MIDI cable, connect the MIDI OUT of your MIDI sequencer to the MIDI IN of the VM-3100/3100 Pro. 2) Power on while holding down the [SELECT] of both channels 2 and 5. "MIDI System Update?" will be displayed. 3) Press [ENTER/YES]. "Select Update Area" will be displayed. 4) Use [F1] and [F3] to select "Boot Area" and "Main Area" (both areas MUST be selected - please verify this before continuing the update procedure). 5) If desired, use [F3] to select "User Area." NOTE: If "User Area" is selected, all user data will be erased. 5) Press [F4]. "Erase Old System OK?" will be displayed. 6) Press [ENTER/YES]. When "Waiting MIDI-EX" is displayed, begin playing the SMF update data. 7) When "Please Reboot OK" is displayed, turn the power off and back on again. This completes the update. NOTE: Do not turn the power off during the update. If the power goes down accidentally, repeat the above procedure. In such a case, the screen may become corrupted during the update. Ignore the corrupted screen and continue the update procedure. VERSION CONFIRMATION 1) Power on while holding down the [SELECT] of both channels 4 and 7 until the Check Menu is displayed. 2) When in Check Menu screen, press [F4] and the system version will be displayed. 3) Press [F4] to return to the Check Menu screen. 4) Power off to exit the Test Mode. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
