***GT-6 System Update***

**NOTE:  All USER datat will be overwritten when updating the GT-6.  Please backup all important information before updating.

*Tools Needed*

1.  GT-6
2.  Update Disks
3.  MIDI Cable
4.  MIDI sequencer capable of playing SMFs

*Update procedure*

1.  Connect the MIDI in of the GT-6 to the MIDI Out of the Sequencer
2.  Power on while holding "FX-2", "PEDAL ASSIGN" and "UTILITY"
3.  When "Waiting SMF Data [GT6_01.mid]" is displayed, play file "GT6_01.mid"
4.  After first song is sent the GT-6 will write the data to the flash rom.  
5.  When "Waiting SMF Data [GT6_02.mid]" is displayed, play file "GT6_01.mid"
6.  Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each file.  Be sure not to send SMF data until prompted by the display
7.  When all files are sent to the GT-6, the checksum will be displayed
8.  Power off unit and perform Factory Reset

*Factory Reset*

1.  Power on while holding "PREAMP/SPEAKER ON/OFF" and "TYPE VARIATION"
2.  Cursor Right > and rotate VALUE dial to select "SYSTEM > SYSTEM"
3.  Press ENTER

How To Update Drivers Manually

After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.

  • Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).

  • If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.

  • Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.

  • Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.

  • Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  • From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.

  • Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.

Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
