Be aware that most Internet Service Providers will not support new firmware releases. - Make sure that you have downloaded all the necessary software tools and firmware You can either download the ZIP file which includes all software tools and firmware or download the separate files from the directories mentioned on the FTP Site. - If your CopperJet runs firmware v4.x The configuration is lost and returned to factory default - If your CopperJet already runs firmware v5.13 or v5.14 The running configuration is not changed The Main profile is not uploaded to the CopperJet The Main profile can be uploaded by selecting Update -> Update profile - Factory Default configuration (Main Profile) Username: admin Password: admin LAN IP address: 172.19.3.1 Subnetmask: 255.255.0.0 DHCP Server: enabled on the Ethernet LAN DHCP Pool: 172.19.3.2 - 254 ============================ How to upgrade your CopperJet ============================ This document describes how to upgrade your CopperJet 81x and 82x to firmware 5.15SR1 1. Make sure that you know the Revision number of your current CopperJet (Rev 1, 2, 3 or 4) Read the CopperJet_Revision_vxx.pdf for identifying your CopperJet. 2. Download the ZIP file containing all necessary software tools and firmware (*.ZIP) for your CopperJet 4xx, 81x or 82x 3. Make sure that your PC is connected directly to Ethernet port on the CopperJet 4. Install the CopperJet Monitor Tool v3.4.6 or higher Use the Manual_CopperJet_Monitor_Tool_vxx.pdf for a complete description 5. Start the CopperJet Monitor 6. Select the CopperJet that is connected to your PC 7. Select Update -> Update Firmware to upgrade your CopperJet 8. Enter the Main firmware filename (*.bin) 9. Enter the Emergency firmware filename (*.bin). Not needed for Revision 1 units! 10. Enter the Main profile filename (*.pro). Main Profile is the factory default configuration 11. Enter the Emergency profile filename (*.pro). Not needed for Revision 1 units! 12. Select Update and wait until the CopperJet is upgraded 13. Depending on your previour firmware, you may need to upload the profile again 14. Select Update -> Update modem profile 15. Enter the Main and emergency profile filename (*.pro). 16. After your driver has been downloaded, follow these simple steps to install it.
Expand the archive file (if the download file is in zip or rar format).
If the expanded file has an .exe extension, double click it and follow the installation instructions.
Otherwise, open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start menu and selecting Device Manager.
Find the device and model you want to update in the device list.
Double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.
From the Properties dialog box, select the Driver tab.
Click the Update Driver button, then follow the instructions.
Very important: You must reboot your system to ensure that any driver updates have taken effect.
